SITE “SETTLES” FOR BAD ROBERT PATTINSON REPORTING

Hollyscoophas a long, proud tradition ofgetting things horribly wrong, so it’s less than surprising to discover the site has trouble interpreting a four-minuteRobert Pattinsoninterview.
This morning, “The Today Show” ran a segment in which Pattinson spoke withJenna Bush Hager.
Asked about the upcomingBreaking Dawn shoot, Pattinson called it “a little bit daunting,” reflecting on the paparazzi madness during Eclipse production. “If it’s in Vancouver,” he joked, “I’ll probably end up getting cabin fever and end up jumping off the balcony.”
Later, when Hager asked whether Pattinson wants to “settle down and get married” (as a clip of Edward Cullen proposing to Bella Swan played), he responded, “I don’t think settling down should be the same thing as getting married.”
“I mean, I guess settling down just means not sleeping with everybody,” explained Pattinson. “I don’t like the idea of having to settle, though.”
It’s clear Pattinson is saying he just doesn’t like the word “settle.” He’s not rejecting exclusive relationships.

Then he continued, “I would like to go on a date… I’m just putting that out there. Because I never go on dates anymore.”
In context, it’s obvious that Pattinson is referring to the non-stop chaos he faces whenever he goes anywhere in public, and his desire to have some privacy with his romance.
Hollyscoop watched all of this and decided to post, “Kristen Who? Rob Pattinson Is Ready to Date Again!”
What?
Kristen Stewart who? Rob Pattinson is ready to date regular girls and be a normal guy for once,” declares the site.
Um, where did that analysis come from?
Pattinson disagreed with the term “settling down” and expressed a desire to “go on a date” given the swirl of paparazzi.
He didn’t say he’s “ready to date regular girls.” He’s not looking to be set up. He just would like to go out on a normal night without his every move monitored by the paparazzi.
But context and accuracy don’t matter when Hollyscoop is writing the headlines.
