The 23 year-old referred to his boyhood crush on 41 year-old Arquette on the Ellen DeGeneres Show late last year, but expanded on the theme last month when promoting the second Twilight film, New Moon."I've always had a thing for Patricia Arquette", he said. "She was my childhood pin-up. I liked her in True Romance. I watched that about 15 years ago and she kind of struck a chord with me.
"I have never met her before, but when you say you have a celebrity crush, you hope you don't bump into someone and they've read it", he added in another interview on the topic.
While flattered by the comment, Arquette who made True Romance in 1993, revealed in an exclusive interview with The Courier-Mail this month that things might be a little awkward if they were to meet.
"It's very nice he's said that. My niece is like, 'You've got to introduce me'", Arquette said. "But no, I've never met him. I would probably be a little shy like, 'I'm sorry, I'm old now.'"
She said it reminded her of her son when he was five. "There was a woman called Angelyne - she looks like a Barbie doll; a blow-up wierd Barbie doll. She's never done anything but she used to pay for billboards all over LA.She was my son's first crush. We were driving by a little drug store and I said, 'I see Angelyne's pink Corvette, let's go in, she's inside'. So I was carrying him around through the store and I see Angelyne and she turns around. 'We just love you and we wanted to say hi.' She says hi and my son was like, 'Mum, she's an old women'."
Arquette grinned. "I think that will be Robert Pattinson if we ever met - he'll be like (deepening her voice and whispering), 'She's an old woman!'"

With Rob's supposed penchant for older women and Patricia still looks great, I don't think that would be his reaction at all.
Rob would be so shy if he ever met her. I can picture it. I wonder what other celebs he has a crush on....and NO, I'm not talking about the emo ingrate who will not be named :p
She is still one beautiful woman and I agree SarahBella - he would prob be tongue-tied if he got to meet her - and embarrassed that she knew about his crush on her.
I used to have the hots for Clint Eastwood in my youth and damn me - I would be sooo tongue-tied if I ever met him...he still manages to be suave and sexy and he is what in his 70's or older???
it just occurred to me though that I did have a moment like that meeting an idol and thinking wow you are OLD!!!
Mind you I was 13 and a HUGE Monkees fan and met Davy Jones at a telethon here in Perth - he must have been about 40 at the time and looked much older than in his Monkees heyday when he was barely 20!!
Still couple two pages of my autograph book signed by him though and was thrilled with that!!
He looked haggard but to give him his due it was about 7am and he had been up all night doing the telethon!
