Fans Pick Robert Pattinson's Romantic Comedy Star

Twilight starRobert Pattinsonopened some eyes when he talked about doing a romantic comedy movie. The thought raised an interesting question: Who would star opposite him?
So, TheImproper but the question to fans in an informal online poll. Eight actresses with romantic comedy backgrounds were selected as obvious choices. All were near Rob in age.
Rob’s only really only appeared opposite two female leads so far, Kristen Stewart, of course, and Emilie de Ravin. But both the Twilight series and “Remember Me” are dramas.
The idea of shooting a romantic comedy both intrigued him and also seemed a little too obvious a career choice, given fellow Englishman Hugh Grant’s association with such roles. He also hasn’t found a script he likes.
But if he did, one of the most obvious choices for co-star would be the queen of rom-com, Jennifer Aniston. But at 41, she is substantially older than Rob.
So who could fill that role among his generation of actresses?
Ellen Page, 23, would seem like a natural; also Drew Barrymore, 35, although she skews slightly older.
How about 21-year-old Hayden Panettiere? She had the lead in 2009’s near universally panned rom-com “I Love You, Beth Cooper.”
“Transformers” star Megan Fox, who is considered one of Hollywood’s sexiest young stars might also be a good match.
And, there is a slew of Disney talent: Vanessa Hudgens, Demi Lovato, Selina Gomezand Miley Cyrus. Ah… now here’s a possible match: Kate Hudson, who will be 31 next month.
So who did fans choose?
Would you believe Ellen Page?
Page received 21 percent of the vote in the eight-way race, easily topping runner-up Hudson with 13 percent, Barrymore with 12 percent and Fox with 10 percent.
Talent from Disney’s stable didn’t fair quite as well. Hudgens received 7 percent of the vote and Cyrus just 4 percent. Rom-com queen Aniston didn’t fare much better with 5 percent of the vote. Panettiere led the also-rans with 9 percent.
Fans also had the opportunity to write-in their own actress, and not surprisingly, many wanted “Twilight” co-star Kristen Stewart.
Fans also suggested Angelina Jolie, Emily Blunt, Keira Knightley, Amy Adams and even Lady Gaga!

Funny that Emilie de Ravin wasn't mentioned - there were a few comedic moments between them in RM; their chemistry is established and I think they'd be great together in a romcom.
