Young British actor Robert Pattinson who has been crowned as latest Hollywood heartthrob after the unexpected success ofTwilight series has found a place among top world leaders, innovators, artists and icon in Time magazine’s list of “2010 Time 100 Poll” candidates. The publication has decided to conduct the poll in order choose the most influential people in the world with the help of public opinion.
The top line up for the coveted title includesPresident Barack Obama, pop sensation Lady Gaga, US Foreign Secretary Hillary Clinton, Avatar creator James Cameron and the controversial Republican figure Sarah Palin to name a few. Each candidate has a slider bar so that the voters rank their influence as being “least influential” or 100 being “most influential”. While Pattinson’s fate will depends on his number of admirers his co-star Kristen Stewart has no such luck as she is clearly missing from the list of candidates.
The magazine has stated the following reasons for including the 23 year old in the poll: “The Twilight saga has been a boon for the British heartthrob, who plays sparkly, sexy vampire Edward Cullen in the hit franchise. The third installment, Eclipse, comes out this summer, ensuring that Pattinson’s face — however pale — will be omnipresent.”
